You and your physical therapist will spend time talking about what brought you into physical therapy. We will discuss medical history, symptoms, and other pertinent information. Your therapist will complete a comprehensive examination including alignment, range of motion, strength, movement patterns, tissue assessment, etc. We will provide initial treatment, education, and discuss a plan of care for follow-up treatment sessions.

It is common for women of all ages, history, and background to experience pelvic floor dysfunction and pain; especially as we age and/or have kids. But often it is shrugged off as “normal”, “there is nothing you can do about it”, and “you’re just not suppose to talk about it!” GREAT NEWS! We can help and love to talk about your options and educate you with preventative and restorative care treatment options to live your best life!
And yes, if warranted, we can perform internal examinations to better get to the root of your diagnosis and on the path to recovery.

Great news! You do not! Illinois is a direct access state, meaning you can start physical therapy right away after an injury or without having to wait for a doctor’s appointment first - which these days can take a long time!
*If it is determined at any point by your physical therapist you may need further treatment by another medical provider or require imaging; we will refer you.
*Also, sometimes your insurance will require a script from a medical doctor to receive reimbursement. Please reach out to me or your insurance with questions! (Don't worry, I always talk about this before we formally start anyways :) )

Each physical therapy and pelvic floor therapy session is typically about 60 minutes. May vary as discussed with your provider.

We chose to work directly with you instead of contracting with insurance companies. This allows us to provide high-quality, one-on-one care for the entirety of not only one session, but for continuity, individuality, and customized care for your full episode of care. We provide upfront pricing without surprises.
In case you aren't aware, health insurance policies have greatly impacted and limited standard of care options for physical therapy. Standard is now to charge insurances $300+/session in hopes to get reimbursed a fraction of that. As a result, insurance based clinics are often booking multiple clients at once and/or using support staff to justify hitting "numbers". Insurances also have been deciding what and how much treatment a client can receive (and often times that does not align with actual client needs and goals).
Since we do not bill insurance our fees are more affordable and you receive higher quality of care than your average clinic. We are not limited by insurances or overlapping clients thus we do not follow the "one body part at at time" mentality and will focus to customize each session for true holistic care. This quality time per session gives you better results and has you meeting your goals within less visits (ie less cost of care/episode).
Believe me, I totally understand why you want to use the insurance you are already having to pay for! Even with those high deductibles and copays. That's why we can provide you a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance for direct reimbursement for your out of network benefits. We can provide you a script on how to talk to your insurance company to understand what your out-of-network benefits are! Just ask if you have questions :)

At this time with Revive Physical Therapy & Wellness, we cannot see you for physical therapy self-pay services due to federal regulations if you hold one of these plans. HOWEVER, we may be able to see you for wellness visits and soft tissue recovery! Please chat with me regardless and we can discuss your options!
